Sunlight & Chill: Finding the Right Light
Share
Plants are picky about lighting, but once you figure it out, everything else gets easier.
Here’s a cheat sheet:
-
Bright, indirect light is a safe bet for most plants. Think a few feet from a sunny window.
-
Low-light lovers like pothos and ZZ plants can thrive in rooms with little natural light.
-
Sun worshippers like cacti and succulents need direct sun, preferably near a south-facing window.
If your plant’s leaves are turning pale or reaching for the window, it probably needs more light. If the leaves are getting scorched or crispy, it might be getting too much.
Rotate your plants every couple of weeks so they grow evenly and don’t lean. And if you're short on windows, try a grow light. Your plants will thank you.
